ESSEQUIBO & MAZARUNI RIVER TOUR
Explore the many islands and history on the Essequibo and Mazaruni Rivers. Enjoy a scenic journey by road from the City of Georgetown over the Demerara Harbor Bridge to the Parika –a port at the estuary of the River Essequibo. As this journey continues from Parika up the Essequibo by boat, relax in comfort aboard our tourist friendly speedboat and enjoy the ride onto Fort Island. Here you will explore the ruins of the old Dutch fort and artifacts at the Dutch museum which is housed in Guyana’s first Parliament Building –the oldest non-military building in our country. Visit Saxcalli Beach where you will have a delicious lunch and relax on the beach. After which you will be taken up the Mazaruni River to jump a few rapids, then on to Marshal Falls, where you will take a adventurous walk into the rainforest. where you can enjoy a cool relaxing massage under the water fall.
We wrap up our tour at Bartica – a mining town dominated by prospectors, loggers and quarry workers. Visit the market place, restaurants and pork-knockers’ taverns; and meet the people or simply check out the shops. This experience is guaranteed to carve a lasting place in your memory.

As the journey begins, take a drive from Georgetown to the Demerara Harbor Bridge
(bragged as the longest floating bridge in the world) onto the West bank of Guyana.
8:30AM Arrive at Parika.
8:35AM Depart for Fort Island.
9:00AM Arrive at Fort Island. Take a tour of the Dutch ruins and museum.
9:45AM Depart Fort Island.
1045AM Arrive at Saxacalli Beach. have lunch
12:00AMDepart Saxacalli Beach to Marshall Falls.
1:00PM Arrive at Marshall Falls.
3:30PM We depart Marshall Falls to the mining town of Bartica.
4:30PM Arrive at Bartica. Explore Bartica’s market place and town.
5:00PM Depart Bartica for Parika.
6:00PM Arrive at Parika.
6:05PM Depart Parika to Georgetown.
7:00PM Arrive in Georgetown.
